Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from central Bungo, take Route 10 heading east. Continue on Route 10 for approximately 20 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 1. Merge onto Route 1 towards Yokohama. After about 30 kilometers, take the exit towards Naka Ward. Follow the signs for Sankeien Garden. The garden is located at 58-1 Honmokusannotani, which will be on your right. Parking is available at the garden, typically costing around 500 yen for the day.

  • Train

    Start at Bungo Nakagawa Station. Purchase a ticket for the JR Takarazuka Line (approximately 800 yen) and board a train towards Yokohama. The journey takes about 45 minutes. Get off at Ishikawacho Station. From there, exit the station and take Bus No. 58 towards Sankeien Garden. The bus ride will take about 10 minutes, and the fare is around 210 yen. The bus will drop you off directly at the entrance of Sankeien Garden.
