Car

If you are driving from central Buzen, take Route 386 south towards Dazaifu. Follow the signs for Dazaifu, and as you approach the city, merge onto Route 3. After about 15 km, take the exit toward Dazaifu, and continue straight. You will see signs for Kyushu National Museum. The museum has its own parking area. Please note that parking may incur a fee, typically around 500 yen for the day.

From Buzen, head to Buzen Station. Take a train on the Nishitetsu Tenjin Omuta Line towards Fukuoka. Change at Nishitetsu Futsukaichi Station for the Nishitetsu Dazaifu Line. From there, take the train to Dazaifu Station. Upon arrival at Dazaifu Station, the Kyushu National Museum is about a 15-minute walk. Follow the signs from the station towards the museum, or you can take a local bus that stops near the museum. The train fare will be approximately 580 yen one way.
