Getting There

Car
If you are driving, take the Chugoku Expressway and exit at the Iwami interchange. Follow Route 9 towards Iwami, then take Route 186 towards Makidani. Follow the signs to Ryujin Cave, which is located at the address Makidani, Iwami, Iwami District, Tottori 681-0001. Parking is available near the entrance of the cave. Note that there may be a small parking fee.

For those using public transportation, take a train to Masuda Station on the JR Sanin Line. From Masuda Station, take bus number 41 towards Iwami. Get off at the Ryujin Cave bus stop. The cave is a short walk from the bus stop. Be sure to check the bus schedule in advance as service may be limited, especially on weekends.
