Discover more about Tokyo Tower

Tokyo Tower, completed in 1958, is a symbol of Japan's post-war rebirth and economic resurgence. Designed by Tachū Naitō, it was inspired by the Eiffel Tower and stands 333 meters tall. For many, the orange-and-white lattice tower is the defining image of Tokyo. Originally built as a broadcasting tower to consolidate television signals, Tokyo Tower also collects weather and air pollution data. Today, it continues to transmit broadcast signals and offer visitors panoramic views of the city from its observation decks. The Main Deck is at 150 meters, and the Top Deck reaches 250 meters. From these vantage points, visitors can see landmarks like the Tokyo Skytree and, on clear days, even Mount Fuji. At the base of the tower is Foot Town, a shopping complex with cafes, restaurants, and souvenir shops. The tower also hosts seasonal light installations and events, creating a magical atmosphere, especially during winter. For a unique experience, visitors can climb the 600 steps to the Main Deck on certain days. Nearby attractions include Shiba Park and Zojoji Temple, offering a blend of modern and traditional Japanese culture.
