Getting There

    From Zao Onsen, drive south on Route 13 for about 10 minutes. Follow the signs for Zao Echo Line, which will lead you onto the road heading towards the Zao mountain area. The road is well-marked, and you will pass through scenic areas. Keep an eye out for the entrance to Zao Echo Line on your right, approximately 5 km from where you joined the road. There may be parking available near the entrance, but it can fill up quickly during peak seasons.

    From Zao Onsen, take the local bus that goes to the Zao Echo Line. The bus stop is located near the Zao Onsen tourist information center. Buses run approximately every hour, and the fare is around 500 yen. The ride takes about 30 minutes, and you will be dropped off at the entrance to the Zao Echo Line. Make sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time, as services may be limited during off-peak seasons.
