Getting There

  • Car

    If you're driving from Hakone, start by heading east on Route 1 towards Odawara. After about 20 minutes, merge onto Route 138. Continue straight for approximately 30 minutes until you reach Yamanakako. Once in Yamanakako, follow signs for Hirano. Hiraosan is located in Hirano, which should be about 10 minutes from Yamanakako. There is no specific parking area for Hiraosan, but you can find street parking nearby.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach Hiraosan using public transport, begin at Hakone-Yumoto Station. Take the Hakone Tozan Railway to Odawara Station, and then transfer to the JR Tōkaidō Line towards Atami. Get off at Gotemba Station. From Gotemba Station, catch a bus to Yamanakako. Once you arrive in Yamanakako, you can take a local bus or taxi to Hirano. The entire journey will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours and the bus fare will cost around ¥1,500 from Gotemba to Yamanakako.
