Getting There

  • Car

    From the center of Hitachi, head south on Route 6 (National Route 6) towards Ibaraki. Continue driving for about 30 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 50. Take the exit onto Route 50 towards Utsunomiya. Follow Route 50 as it merges into the Joban Expressway (E6). Stay on the expressway for approximately 50 kilometers and then take the exit towards Ueno/Tokyo City. Merge onto Route 4 (Kantō Expressway) and follow the signs to central Tokyo. Once you reach the area of Kita City, look for signs directing you to Kyu-Furukawa Gardens, located at 1 Chome-27-39 Nishigahara. There is parking available near the gardens.

  • Public Transportation

    From Hitachi Station, take the JR Joban Line train heading towards Ueno. This will be a direct route. After about 1 hour and 30 minutes, you will arrive at Ueno Station. Once at Ueno Station, transfer to the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line and take the train towards Naka-Meguro. Get off at the Yanaka Station after about 5 stops. From Yanaka Station, exit and walk north for approximately 15 minutes. Follow the signs or use a map application to guide you to Kyu-Furukawa Gardens at 1 Chome-27-39 Nishigahara.
