    If you are driving to Kyu-Shiba-rikyū Gardens from anywhere in Hitachi, first head towards the Joban Expressway (E6). Depending on your starting point, you may need to navigate through local roads to get to the expressway. Once on the Joban Expressway, continue south and take the Narita / Tokyo exit towards Tokyo. After exiting, merge onto Route 6 and follow the signs for Minato City. The gardens are located at 1 Chome-4-1 Kaigan, Minato City, Tokyo. There is limited street parking available, and you may need to pay for parking in nearby lots, which typically charge around ¥300-¥600 per hour.

  • Train and Walk

    For those using public transportation, take the JR Joban Line from Hitachi Station towards Ueno. The journey takes about 2 hours. Alight at Tokyo Station. From Tokyo Station, transfer to the JR Keihin-Tohoku Line and take the train to Hamamatsucho Station. This leg of the journey will take around 5-10 minutes. Upon arriving at Hamamatsucho Station, use the North Exit and walk towards the gardens. It is about a 15-minute walk (approximately 1.2 km). Follow the signs to Kyu-Shiba-rikyū Gardens, which will lead you through the surrounding area to the entrance at 1 Chome-4-1 Kaigan, Minato City, Tokyo.

    Alternatively, you can take a bus from Hitachi to Tokyo. Board a highway bus at Hitachi Bus Terminal heading to Tokyo Station.
