Discover the Rich Heritage at Ishigaki Shiritsu Yaeyama Museum

Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, start from the main city area of Ishigaki. Head north on Route 390, following the signs for Tonoshiro. After approximately 5 minutes, turn right onto Route 10. Continue straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the intersection near Tonoshiro. Turn left onto Tonoshiro Road and you will find the Ishigaki Shiritsu Yaeyama Museum at 4-1 Tonoshiro, just a short distance ahead. There is parking available at the museum.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  From the center of Ishigaki, you can take a local bus bound for Tonoshiro. Board the bus at the Ishigaki Bus Terminal. The fare is approximately 300 yen. After about 10-15 minutes, get off at the 'Tonoshiro' bus stop, which is located close to the museum. From the bus stop, it's a short walk of about 5 minutes to reach the Ishigaki Shiritsu Yaeyama Museum at 4-1 Tonoshiro.

• Walking

  If you are staying nearby or prefer to walk, you can navigate your way to the Ishigaki Shiritsu Yaeyama Museum from central Ishigaki. Start at the Ishigaki Port and head northeast towards Route 390. Follow Route 390 for about 1.2 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Route 10. Turn right onto Route 10 and then take a left onto Tonoshiro Road. The museum will be on your right at 4-1 Tonoshiro. The walk should take around 25-30 minutes.
