Katsura Bridge: A Scenic Jewel in Izu

Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start from any point in Izu and navigate to the Katsura Bridge located at 3463-17 Shuzenji, Izu, Shizuoka 410-2416. Use a GPS or navigation app and enter the provided address. The bridge is well-signposted. Once you arrive in Shuzenji, look for signs directing you towards Katsura Bridge. There is parking available nearby the bridge, but be aware that there might be a small fee for parking, approximately 300 yen for an hour.

• Public Transportation (Train + Bus)

  For those using public transport, take the Izu Hakone Railway from Izu’s main train station (e.g., Izu Kogen Station) towards Shuzenji Station. The train ride takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Shuzenji Station, exit the station and head to the bus stop located just outside the station. Board the local bus heading to Katsura Bridge. The bus ride is about 10 minutes. Make sure to check the bus schedule as buses may not run frequently. The fare is around 200 yen. Get off at the stop for Katsura Bridge, and you will find yourself at the entrance to the bridge.

• Walking

  If you're already in the Shuzenji area, you can walk to Katsura Bridge. From the center of Shuzenji, head southeast on the main road towards Katsura Bridge. The distance is about 1.5 kilometers, which should take around 20-25 minutes on foot. Follow the signs towards the bridge, and enjoy the scenic views along the way.
