Located in the Nagamachi district, this meticulously preserved home once belonged to the Nomura family, who served the Maeda clan, the lords of the Kaga Domain, for generations. Originally built in the late 16th century, the residence was later purchased by a wealthy merchant, Kubo Hikobei, in the early 20th century, who moved a drawing room from a rural house in Ishikawa Prefecture and added a tea room. Today, the residence is owned by the city and has been carefully restored to showcase samurai home life. Visitors can explore the various rooms, each exhibiting unique features and artifacts. Highlights include the coffered ceiling made of Japanese cypress in the Jodan no Ma (upper room), fusuma (sliding door) paintings by Senkei Sasaki, and family heirlooms such as samurai armor and swords.
