Public Transportation
If you are traveling from Tokyo, take the JR Tohoku Shinkansen from Tokyo Station to Utsunomiya Station (approximately 1 hour). At Utsunomiya Station, transfer to the JR Ryomo Line and take the train to Ashikaga Station (approximately 30 minutes). From Ashikaga Station, exit the station and head north on Route 50. You can either walk (about 25 minutes) or take a taxi to Banna-ji Temple, located at 2220 Ietomicho, Ashikaga.

Car
If you are driving from Tokyo, take the Tohoku Expressway (E4) towards Utsunomiya. Continue on the expressway for about 100 kilometers and take the exit for Ashikaga. Follow the signs to Route 50 and then Route 293. Continue straight on Route 293 until you reach Ietomicho. Banna-ji Temple will be on your right at 2220 Ietomicho. There is parking available near the temple.

From Narita International Airport, take the Narita Express train to Tokyo Station (approximately 1 hour). At Tokyo Station, switch to the JR Tohoku Shinkansen and follow the instructions for traveling to Banna-ji Temple from Tokyo. Alternatively, you can take a Limousine Bus from Narita to Utsunomiya and then transfer to the JR Ryomo Line to Ashikaga Station.
