Getting there

Car

If you are driving from Tokyo, take the Tohoku Expressway (E4) towards Utsunomiya and then switch to the Joban Expressway (E6) towards Mito. Exit at the Daigo IC. Follow the signs for Fukuroda Falls, which is about a 20-minute drive from the exit. Make sure to have cash for the expressway tolls, which can range from ¥1,500 to ¥3,000 depending on your starting point.

Train and Bus

For those using public transportation, take the JR Joban Line from Tokyo Station to Mito Station. The journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. From Mito Station, transfer to the Kanetsu bus bound for Fukuroda Falls. The bus ride takes approximately 50 minutes. The bus fare will cost around ¥1,000 one way. Ensure you check the bus schedule as it may not be very frequent.

Taxi

If you prefer a more direct route after reaching Mito Station, you can take a taxi to Fukuroda Falls. The taxi ride will take about 30 minutes and cost approximately ¥5,000 to ¥6,000, depending on traffic conditions.
