Getting There

Car

From central Tokyo, take the Tohoku Expressway (E4) heading north. Continue on the expressway for about 2 hours. Take the Nikko exit (Exit 147) and follow Route 119 towards Nikko. After about 15 minutes on Route 119, you will reach the entrance to Nikko National Park. Follow the signs to the park entrance and parking areas.
Train

From Tokyo Station, take the JR Tohoku Shinkansen (bullet train) to Utsunomiya Station. This journey takes approximately 50 minutes. At Utsunomiya Station, transfer to the JR Nikko Line and take the train to Nikko Station, which takes about 40 minutes. Once you arrive at Nikko Station, you can take a local bus (Nikko City Bus) towards Yumoto Onsen. The bus ride to Yumoto, the area within Nikko National Park, takes about 30 minutes.
Bus

From Shinjuku Station, take the Keio Bus bound for Nikko. The journey takes about 2.5 hours. The bus will drop you off at Nikko Station. From there, transfer to the local bus (Nikko City Bus) towards Yumoto Onsen. The bus ride to Yumoto, which is close to Nikko National Park, takes about 30 minutes.
