Car
If you are driving, start by heading towards Route 4 (also known as the Shuto Expressway) from your current location in Kawachi. Follow the signs for Tokyo and take the exit towards Taito City. Once on the main road, keep an eye out for signs to Yanaka. Drive along Yanaka Street, and look for 5 Chome-8-28 on your left side. There is limited parking available nearby, so make sure to park in designated areas.
Train
To reach Kannōnji Temple by train, head to Kawachi Station and board the JR Joban Line towards Ueno. After about 30 minutes, get off at Nippori Station. From Nippori, transfer to the Yamanote Line and take the train towards Ikebukuro. Get off at the next stop, which is Nishi-Nippori Station. Exit the station and walk approximately 15 minutes to Yanaka. Follow the signs to 5 Chome-8-28, where the temple is located.
Bus
If you prefer taking the bus, find your way to the closest bus stop in Kawachi. Board a bus heading towards Ueno Station. The journey may take about 40 minutes. Once you arrive at Ueno, transfer to the Toei Bus bound for Yanaka. After about 15 minutes, get off at the Yanaka stop. From there, it’s a short 5-minute walk to the temple at 5 Chome-8-28.
Taxi
For a more convenient option, consider taking a taxi directly from your location in Kawachi to Kannōnji Temple. Simply provide the address (5 Chome-8-28 Yanaka, Taito City, Tokyo 110-0001) to the driver.
