Getting There

Train

From Kyoto Station, take the JR Tōkaidō Shinkansen (Hikari or Kodama) towards Shin-Osaka. Alight at Shin-Osaka Station. From there, transfer to the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line and take the train heading towards Nakamozu. Get off at Namba Station. Once at Namba, transfer to the Osaka Metro Yotsubashi Line towards Sumiyoshi and get off at Nankai Namba Station. From there, you can take a Nankai Railway train to reach Osaka. Finally, take a local bus or taxi to Mount Tenpō in Minato Ward, as it's about a 15-minute drive from the station.
Bus

From Kyoto Station, take the Kyoto City Bus No. 100 or No. 206 towards Kyoto Station. Get off at Kyoto Station and transfer to the JR Tōkaidō Shinkansen towards Osaka. Alight at Shin-Osaka Station, then switch to the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line towards Namba. Get off at Namba Station and transfer to the Osaka Metro Yotsubashi Line towards Sumiyoshi. Get off at Nankai Namba Station. Finally, take a local bus or taxi to Mount Tenpō in Minato Ward.
Taxi

If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from Kyoto directly to Mount Tenpō. Simply tell the driver the address: 3-chōme-2 Chikkō, Minato Ward, Osaka, 552-0021. The ride will take approximately 1 hour depending on traffic.
