Public Transport

From Kyoto Station, take Kyoto City Bus number 205 or 206 and get off at the Daitokuji-mae bus stop. The bus ride takes approximately 30-45 minutes and costs ¥230. From the bus stop, it is a short 5-7 minute walk to Kōtō-in Temple.
Subway and Bus

Take the Karasuma Subway Line to Kitaoji Station. From Kitaoji Station, you can take a bus (route 1, Kita 3, Kita 8, 204, 205, or 206) or walk to Daitoku-ji. The bus will cost an additional ¥230. Walking from Kitaoji Station takes about 15 minutes.
Taxi

Taxis are readily available in Kyoto. A taxi from Kyoto Station to Kōtō-in Temple will cost approximately ¥1,500-¥1,900 and take about 20 minutes, depending on traffic. Note that traffic can be heavy during peak tourist seasons.
