If you're driving from Osaka, take the Hanshin Expressway to the Kinki Expressway. Follow the signs towards Nara and take the Nara IC exit. Once you exit, continue on Route 369 towards Nara city center. As you approach Nara, follow the signs for Shin Yakushi-ji. The temple is located at 1352 Takabatakecho, Nara. There is parking available nearby, but be aware that there may be a fee.

From Kyoto, take the JR Nara Line from Kyoto Station to Nara Station. The journey takes about 45 minutes. Once at Nara Station, transfer to the Nara Kotsu Bus (number 97 or 92) towards 'Takabatake' and get off at the 'Shin Yakushi-ji' bus stop. The temple is a short walk from the bus stop. The train fare is approximately 720 yen one way.

If you're starting from Osaka, take the Kintetsu Nara Line from Osaka Namba Station to Kintetsu Nara Station. The trip takes about 40 minutes. From Kintetsu Nara Station, take the Nara Kotsu Bus (number 97 or 92) towards 'Takabatake' and disembark at the 'Shin Yakushi-ji' stop. The bus fare is around 210 yen.

For a more adventurous route, consider renting a bicycle in Nara. From Nara Station, you can cycle to Shin Yakushi-ji. The distance is about 2 kilometers and will take roughly 10-15 minutes. There are bike rental shops near the station, and rental fees are typically around 500 yen for a half-day.
