Getting There

  • Bus

    From Nara Station, take bus number 70 or 97 towards 'Higashimuki Shopping Street'. The ride takes approximately 15 minutes. Get off at the 'Shin Yakushi-ji' bus stop. From there, it's a short 5-minute walk to the temple. Head southeast on the main road, and you'll see the entrance to Shin Yakushi-ji on your left.

  • Walking

    If you are near Nara Park, head towards the Nara National Museum. From the museum, walk north along the path that leads out of the park. After approximately 15 minutes of walking, you will reach Takabatakecho. Turn right onto Takabatakecho, and you will see Shin Yakushi-ji ahead on your right side.

  • Taxi

    You can also opt for a taxi from any location in Nara. Simply tell the driver 'Shin Yakushi-ji' or show them the address: 1352 Takabatakecho, Nara, 630-8301. The ride will usually take about 10 minutes depending on traffic.
