Getting there

Public Transport

From Nara Park, walk to the nearest bus stop, which is Nara Koen Mae. Take the Kintetsu Nara Line bus heading towards Kyoto Station. After about 45 minutes, get off at Kyoto Station. From Kyoto Station, transfer to the Karasuma Subway Line and take it to Shijo Station. At Shijo Station, exit and walk towards the east along Shijo Street until you reach the intersection with Sanjo Street. Continue walking east; you will reach Shinbashi-dori in about 10 minutes.

Walking

Start at Nara Park and head towards the Nara National Museum. From there, walk east along the main road until you reach Sanjo Street. Turn right on Sanjo Street and walk straight for about 15-20 minutes until you reach the area of Higashiyama Ward in Kyoto. Shinbashi-dori is located just off Sanjo Street; look for signs directing you to the notable street.

Taxi

If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from Nara. Simply tell the driver you want to go to Shinbashi-dori in Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto. The journey will take approximately 40 minutes, depending on traffic. Ensure that you have the address written down in Japanese, as it may help the driver.
