Getting There

  • Car

    If you are traveling by car, head towards Osaka city center. Use the Hanshin Expressway Route 16 or Route 1, depending on your starting point. Follow the signs for Tennoji and exit at the Tennoji exit. Once you exit, continue straight until you reach the intersection at Shitennoji Temple. There is limited parking available around the temple, so be prepared to find a nearby parking lot, which may incur a fee of approximately 500 to 1000 yen depending on the duration.

  • Train

    If you prefer public transportation, start by taking the JR (Japan Railways) or Kintetsu train to Tennoji Station. From Tennoji Station, take the Osaka Metro (Subway) Tanimachi Line to Shitennoji-mae Yuhigaoka Station. The journey takes about 10 minutes. Upon exiting the station, follow the signs to Shitennoji Temple, which is about a 10-minute walk (approximately 800 meters) from the station. Look for the pagoda, which is visible from a distance.
