Car

If you are traveling by car, Tokei Shrine is located at 1-1 Toyo, Tanabe, Wakayama 646-0029. From the Kumano Kodo trails, navigate to Route 42. Follow Route 42 towards Tanabe City. After approximately 20 minutes, look for signs directing you to Tokei Shrine. There is parking available near the shrine, but it can be limited during peak tourist seasons. Make sure to check for any parking fees.

Public Transportation

To reach Tokei Shrine using public transportation, head to Tanabe Station, which is accessible via the JR Kisei Line. From Tanabe Station, take the Nanki Bus towards 'Kumano Kodo' or 'Toyo' and disembark at the 'Tokei Jinja-mae' bus stop. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes, and a one-way ticket costs approximately 500 yen. From the bus stop, it's a short 5-minute walk to the shrine entrance.

If you are already in the vicinity of Tokei Shrine and prefer to walk, find your way to Toyo area in Tanabe. The shrine is well-signposted in the neighborhood. The walk from the nearby bus stop (Tokei Jinja-mae) is scenic and takes about 5 minutes. Be sure to follow the signs leading to the shrine.
