Getting There

Walking
From Nara Station (either JR or Kintetsu), it is approximately a 25-minute walk to Uwanabe Kofun. Exit the station and head southeast towards the Naramachi area. Continue straight along the main road, passing shops and cafes. At the intersection near the Nara National Museum, turn left and continue straight, following signs to Uwanabe Kofun. The kofun is located at 1823 Hokkejicho.

Public Transport
From JR Nara Station or Kintetsu Nara Station, take the Nara Kotsu bus. Look for buses #2, 70, 97, or 98 from bus stop No. 1 at the East exit of JR Nara Station or Kintetsu Nara Station. Get off at the last stop of the Self-Defense Force bus; from there, it is a 1-minute walk to Uwanabe Kofun. A single bus ride costs ¥250. A 1-day bus pass is available for ¥600, covering central Nara.

Taxis are available from both JR Nara Station and Kintetsu Nara Station. A taxi ride from JR Nara Station to Uwanabe Kofun will cost approximately ¥680-750, while from Kintetsu Nara Station, it will cost around ¥1040-1200. The journey takes about 10 minutes.
