From the Hongu Taisha Shrine, the main shrine of Kumano, Kumano Kodo Guides office is approximately a 15-minute walk. Head north along the main road, following signs for the Kumano Kodo trails. The office is located near the entrance to one of the popular trail sections. Note that some sections involve uphill climbs.

Public Transport

From Kii-Tanabe Station, take a bus to Hongu Taisha-mae bus stop. From there, it's a short walk to the Kumano Kodo Guides office. Bus fares typically cost around ¥1500-¥2000. Check the bus schedule in advance as services may be infrequent. From the bus stop, head north along the main road, following signs for the Kumano Kodo trails.
