Taiyō Park, nestled at the base of Mt. Mineai in Himeji, is an expansive and somewhat surreal theme park featuring replicas of famous landmarks from around the world. Founded in 1992 by Kenzo Monguchi, the park was envisioned as a place where people with disabilities and the elderly could experience the feeling of traveling the world.The park is divided into two main areas: the Stone Area and the Castle Area. The Stone Area features reproductions of iconic stone structures such as the Great Wall of China, the Arc de Triomphe, Moai statues from Easter Island, and Egyptian pyramids. A highlight is the replica of the Terracotta Army, crafted with the same materials and methods as the originals, with over 1,000 unglazed terracotta warriors.The Castle Area is home to Swan Castle, a two-thirds scale reproduction of Germany's Neuschwanstein Castle. Visitors can take a monorail to the castle, which features trick art exhibits inside. The park's replicas may show some wear and tear, adding to the park's unique charm.
