Getting There

  • Walking

    If you're starting from Nara Park, head towards Kintetsu Nara Station. From the station, walk straight down Sanjo Street until you reach the intersection with Higashimuki Shopping Street. Continue along Higashimuki, which leads directly to the bus terminal where you can catch a bus to Kyoto. Take the 100 or 206 bus towards Kyoto Station. Once you arrive at Kyoto Station, exit and find the bus stop for the Kyoto City Bus. Catch bus number 100 or 206 towards Gion. Get off at the Gion Stop and walk towards Hanamikoji Street. Follow the road until you reach Tatsumi Bridge (祇園巽橋). The bridge is easily recognizable and is located near the picturesque canal.

    From Nara, board a Kintetsu Nara Line train to Kyoto Station. Once at Kyoto Station, transfer to the Kyoto City Bus and take bus number 100 or 206 towards Gion. Disembark at the Gion Stop, and walk towards Hanamikoji Street. Follow the street until you reach Tatsumi Bridge (祇園巽橋). This bridge is a significant landmark and a beautiful spot for photos.
