Car
If you're driving from Koshi to Himeji Castle, start by heading north on Route 2. Follow this road for approximately 35 kilometers. Once you reach Himeji, look for signs directing you to Himeji Castle, which is located at 68 Honmachi. There are several parking lots nearby, such as the Himeji Castle Parking Lot, which charges around 500 yen per hour. The castle is about a 10-minute walk from the parking areas.
Public Transportation (Train)
To reach Himeji Castle using public transportation, take the JR Sanyo Line from Koshi Station to Himeji Station. The journey takes about 45 minutes and costs approximately 700 yen. Once you arrive at Himeji Station, exit the station and follow the signs to Himeji Castle, which is a 15-20 minute walk (approximately 1.5 kilometers) from the station. You can also catch a local bus (bound for Himeji Castle) from the station, which will take you directly to the castle entrance for a small fare.
Public Transportation (Bus)
If you prefer buses, from Koshi, take a local bus to Himeji. The bus ride will take around an hour and costs approximately 1000 yen. Once you arrive at Himeji, disembark at the Himeji Castle bus stop. The castle entrance is just a short walk from there, making it a convenient option for visitors.
