Getting There

  • Train

    From Kyoto Station, take the JR Tokaido Line to Osaka Station. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Osaka Station, follow the signs to transfer to the Osaka Loop Line and take the train heading towards Tennoji Station. This leg of the journey takes approximately 15 minutes. After you arrive at Tennoji Station, exit the station and walk towards Abeno Harukas, which is a tall skyscraper. From there, walk south for about 10-15 minutes until you reach Horikoshi Jinja, located at 1-8 Chausuyamacho, Tennoji Ward, Osaka.

  • Bus

    From Kyoto Station, you can take the highway bus to Osaka. The journey takes around 1 hour. Once you arrive at Osaka, you can either take a local bus or the subway to reach Tennoji. If you choose the subway, take the Midosuji Line to Namba Station and transfer to the Sennichimae Line towards Tennoji. After arriving at Tennoji Station, walk towards Abeno Harukas, and then head south for approximately 10-15 minutes to reach Horikoshi Jinja at 1-8 Chausuyamacho.

  • Walking

    If you are staying in the central area of Kyoto and prefer to walk, you can start from popular spots like Gion or Nishiki Market. Head towards Kyoto Station first. This is about a 30-40 minute walk. Once at Kyoto Station, follow the guidance above for either train or bus options to reach Osaka and then make your way to Horikoshi Jinja.
