Train
From Kyoto Station, take the JR Nara Line towards Nara. The journey will take approximately 45 minutes. Get off at Nara Station. Once you arrive at Nara Station, exit the station and head towards the bus terminal located right outside the station.
Bus
At the Nara Station bus terminal, take the Nara City Loop Bus (green line) or the bus bound for Kasuga Taisha. The bus ride will take around 10-15 minutes. Get off at the Kasuga Taisha bus stop, which is the closest stop to the shrine.
Walking
After getting off the bus at the Kasuga Taisha bus stop, walk towards the entrance of Kasuga Taisha, which is a short walk of about 5 minutes. Follow the signs leading you through the beautiful Nara Park, where you can see the famous free-roaming deer. The shrine's entrance is marked and you will see the iconic lanterns as you approach.
