Getting There

Train
From Kyoto Station, take the JR Special Rapid Service train towards Osaka Station. This journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Osaka Station, follow the signs to transfer to the Osaka Metro. You will need to take the Osaka Metro Chuo Line from Osaka Station to Awaji Station, which will take approximately 10 minutes. After arriving at Awaji Station, exit the station and head northeast towards Nakanoshima. The National Museum of Art, Osaka is about a 15-minute walk from the station.

From Kyoto Station, take the Kyoto City Bus 205 or 17 towards Namba. Get off at the 'Nakanoshima' bus stop. The journey will take around 50 minutes. From the bus stop, walk north along the river for about 5 minutes, and you will see The National Museum of Art, Osaka on your left.

If you are comfortable riding a bicycle, you can rent one from a nearby rental shop in Kyoto. Head east to the Kamo River, then follow the river south towards Osaka.
