Walking
From the main area of Gion, head towards Shijo Avenue (Shijo-dori). You can find this street easily as it is one of the main roads in Gion. Once you reach Shijo Avenue, turn left and walk until you reach the intersection with Hanamikoji Street. Turn right onto Hanamikoji Street, which is known for its traditional wooden machiya houses and tea houses. Continue walking straight until you reach the end of Hanamikoji Street, which will lead you to Kiyomizu-dera Temple. Sannenzaka will be on your right side as you approach the temple.
Public Transport (Bus)
If you prefer to take a bus, find the nearest bus stop in Gion, such as the Gion bus stop. From there, you can take Bus number 100 or 206 towards Kiyomizu-dera. The bus ride will take about 10-15 minutes. Get off at the Kiyomizu-michi stop. Once you get off, follow the signs pointing to Kiyomizu-dera, and Sannenzaka will be along the path leading to the temple. Note that a single bus ride costs around 230 yen.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from anywhere in Gion. Simply tell the driver you want to go to Sannenzaka, located near Kiyomizu-dera Temple. The taxi ride will take approximately 5-10 minutes depending on traffic, and the cost will typically range from 800 to 1,200 yen.
