Getting There

  • Bus

    From Kyoto Station, take the number 100 or 206 bus towards Higashiyama. Get off at the 'Kiyomizu-michi' bus stop. After disembarking, walk towards the east along Kiyomizu-zaka Street. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Imakumano Tsuruginomiyacho Street. Turn left and walk straight for about 10 minutes. Tsurugi Shrine will be on your right.

  • Subway and Walking

    From Kyoto Station, take the Karasuma Subway Line to Karasuma Oike Station. Transfer to the Tozai Line and ride towards Uzumasa Tenjingawa. Get off at Higashiyama Station. Exit the station and walk east along Shichijo Street until you reach the intersection with Higashioji Street. Turn left onto Higashioji and then right onto Imakumano Tsuruginomiyacho Street. Walk straight for about 5 minutes and you will see Tsurugi Shrine on your left.

    If you are near the famous Kiyomizu-dera Temple, you can walk to Tsurugi Shrine. Start from Kiyomizu-dera and head down Kiyomizu-zaka Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Imakumano Tsuruginomiyacho Street. Turn to the left and walk for about 10 minutes. Tsurugi Shrine will appear on your right.
