Public Transport
If you are starting from Kyoto Station, take the Karasuma Subway Line (green line) and head towards Kokusaikaikan Station. Get off at Shijo Station (5 stops). From Shijo Station, take Exit 1 and walk east along Shijo Street. After about 10 minutes, you will reach the intersection with Gion Corner. Turn right onto Hanamikoji Street, and after about 5 minutes, you will arrive at Yasaka Shrine, located at 625 Gionmachi Kitagawa, Higashiyama Ward.

Walking
If you are in the Gion district, Yasaka Shrine is easily accessible by foot. Start at the Gion-Shijo Station (Hankyu Line) and head south towards the main Gion area. Walk along Hanamikoji Street, where you can see traditional wooden machiya houses. Continue straight until you see the large red gate of Yasaka Shrine at the end of the street.

From Kyoto Station, board the City Bus #100 or #206, both of which go to Gion. Get off at the Gion bus stop. From there, it’s a short walk to Yasaka Shrine. Head south on Shijo Avenue, then turn left onto Hanamikoji Street; the shrine will be on your left after a few minutes.
