Getting There

Car
If you are driving, start by heading towards the Kumamoto Expressway (Kyushu Expressway). From Kumamoto City, take the Kumamoto Interchange exit and merge onto Route 57 towards Aso. Continue on Route 57 for about 35 km until you reach Aso City. Once in Aso, follow signs for Ichinomiyamachi Miyaji, and turn left onto Route 275. Aso Jinja will be on your left at 3083-1 Ichinomiyamachi Miyaji. There is parking available nearby.

Public Transportation
For public transportation, take a train from Kumamoto Station to Aso Station on the Hōhi Line. The journey takes about 45 minutes. Once you arrive at Aso Station, exit the station and look for the bus stop for the Aso City Community Bus (Aso Kōtsū). Take the bus towards Ichinomiyamachi, and get off at the Aso Jinja stop. The shrine is just a short walk from the bus stop. Check the bus schedule ahead of time, as services may vary.

If you have rented a car, head north from Kumamoto City on Route 57. After approximately 35 km, you will arrive in Aso. Look for signs directing you to Ichinomiyamachi Miyaji. Once you reach the area, turn onto Route 275 and continue until you see Aso Jinja on your left. Make sure to plan for parking, which is available near the shrine.
