Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving, head towards Kumamoto City. From the Kumamoto Interchange on the Kyushu Expressway, take Route 3 towards the city center. Once in Kumamoto, follow signs for Suizenji Park. The Monkey D. Luffy statue is located at 6 Chome-18-1 Suizenji, Chuo Ward, Kumamoto. There is usually parking available nearby, but be prepared for possible parking fees of around 300-500 yen per hour.

• Train

  For those using public transportation, take the Shinkansen (bullet train) to Kumamoto Station. From Kumamoto Station, transfer to the Kumamoto City Tram (Kumamoto City Transportation) and take Line A towards Suizenji. Get off at Suizenji Station, which is about a 10-minute ride. From Suizenji Station, the statue is a 10-15 minute walk. Follow the signs towards Suizenji Park, and you'll find the statue located at 6 Chome-18-1 Suizenji, Chuo Ward. Note that the tram fare is approximately 200 yen.

• Bus

  Another option is to take a local bus to Suizenji Park. From Kumamoto Station, you can take the 'Suizenji' bus (check local schedules for specific routes). The bus ride takes about 30 minutes, and the fare is around 300 yen. Once you arrive at the Suizenji Park bus stop, the statue is a short walk away, just follow the signs to Suizenji Park, where the statue is located at 6 Chome-18-1 Suizenji, Chuo Ward.
