If you're traveling by car, start by heading towards the Sanyo Expressway from your location in Mikawa. Follow the signs for the Sanyo Expressway and merge onto it. Continue on the Sanyo Expressway for approximately 1.5 hours, depending on traffic. Take the exit for Hatsukaichi (Exit 9) and follow the signs towards Miyajima. Once you arrive at the ferry terminal in Miyajima-guchi, park your car in one of the designated parking lots (note that parking fees may apply, approximately 1,000 yen for a day). From the parking area, walk to the ferry terminal and purchase a ticket for the ferry to Miyajima Island, which costs around 180 yen one way. The ferry ride takes about 10 minutes. Upon arrival at Miyajima, follow the signs leading to Itsukushima Jinja, which is about a 15-minute walk from the ferry terminal.
