Getting There

  • Car

    If you are traveling by car, head towards Hinohara Village. From Musashi, take the Chuo Expressway and exit at Hachioji Junction. Follow Route 16 until you reach Route 33, which will take you directly to Hinohara. Once in Hinohara, follow the signs for Hossawa Falls (本宿の滝) and park in the designated parking area. Be aware that parking may incur a small fee, typically around 500 yen.

    To reach Hossawa Falls via public transportation, take the JR Chuo Line from Musashi to Mitaka Station. From Mitaka Station, transfer to the JR Ome Line and head to Okutama Station. At Okutama Station, take the bus (Hinohara Village bound) which will take you to the Hossawa Falls stop. The bus ride may take around 30 minutes and tickets cost approximately 600 yen. From the bus stop, it is a short 10-minute walk to the falls.
