Getting There

  • Car

    From central Nagato, take Route 191 heading north. Continue on Route 191 for about 30 km until you reach the junction with Route 2. Take the exit towards Route 2 and continue east for approximately 20 km. Follow the signs for Tsunoshima Island. You will need to cross the Tsunoshima Bridge (Tsunoshima Ohashi), which is a toll bridge costing around 1,200 yen. The bridge offers stunning views of the ocean and leads directly to Tsunoshima Island.

    Start at Nagato Station. Take the JR San'in Main Line train towards Shimonoseki. Get off at the Shimonoseki Station (approximately a 1-hour ride). From Shimonoseki Station, transfer to the bus service that goes to Tsunoshima Island. The bus ride takes about 40 minutes and costs around 500 yen. Make sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time, as the frequency may vary. The bus will drop you off near the Tsunoshima Bridge, and from there, it's a short walk to the island.
