Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from central Naoshima, take the ferry from Naoshima to Takamatsu. The ferry ride takes about 20 minutes and costs approximately 1,000 yen per person. Once you arrive at Takamatsu, head east on Route 11. Follow signs for Mt. Yashima. The drive takes around 30 minutes. You can park at the designated parking area near the base of Mt. Yashima.

  • Public Transportation

    Begin your journey by taking the ferry from Naoshima to Takamatsu, which takes about 20 minutes and costs approximately 1,000 yen per person. Upon arriving at Takamatsu, exit the ferry terminal and head to Takamatsu Station. From there, take the Kotoden train on the Shido Line towards Shido. Get off at Yashima Station (approximately 20 minutes). From Yashima Station, you can take a taxi to the foot of Mt. Yashima, which should cost around 1,500 yen. Alternatively, you may choose to walk, which will take about 30 minutes.
