Getting There

    If you are starting from Nara Station, take the Kintetsu Nara Line to Yamato-Saidaiji Station. From there, transfer to the JR Nara Line and head towards Kyoto. Get off at Yamashina Station. Once at Yamashina Station, exit the station and take bus number 205 or 206 towards 'Shogunzuka' for approximately 15 minutes. The bus will drop you near the entrance to Shogunzuka Mound.

    From Nara, get onto the Route 24 highway heading north towards Kyoto. Continue on this road for about 20 kilometers until you reach the Yamashina Ward area in Kyoto. Look for signs for 'Shogunzuka Mound' as you approach the area. Once you arrive, park at the nearby designated parking area and walk a short distance to the entrance of Shogunzuka Mound.
