    Getting There

    Bus

    From Nara Station, take the Kintetsu Nara Line to Kyoto Station. Once you arrive at Kyoto Station, transfer to the Kyoto City Bus. Take Bus Number 100 or 206 towards Gion. Get off at the Gion stop, and you will be in the heart of the Gion district, which is located in Higashiyama Ward.

    Train

    Start at Nara Station and board the Kintetsu Nara Line train heading to Kyoto. Get off at Kyoto Station. From there, navigate to the subway station located in the basement of the train station and take the Kyoto Subway Karasuma Line towards Takeda. At Shijo Station, transfer to the Hankyu Kyoto Line and take the train to Kawaramachi Station. Once you arrive, walk towards Shijo Avenue and head east to reach Gion.

    Walking

    If you're already in the vicinity of Nara Park, you can enjoy a scenic stroll. Walk northwest towards Naramachi, the old town area. Head to the nearest bus stop and catch a bus to Kyoto; alternatively, you can walk to the Kintetsu Nara Station to take the train. Once you arrive in Kyoto, follow the previous bus or train directions towards Gion.
