Public Bus
From Nara Park, head to the nearest bus stop (Nara Koen Mae). Board the Kyoto-bound bus number 16 or 18. After approximately 30 minutes, get off at the 'Shishigatani' stop. From there, walk for about 10 minutes to reach Hōnenin Temple. Head east on Shishigatani Goshonodancho street until you see the temple entrance on your left.
Train and Walk
Start at Nara Station. Take the JR Nara Line to Kyoto Station. Once at Kyoto Station, transfer to the Karasuma Line and take the subway to Marutamachi Station. Exit the station and walk north on Karasuma Street, then turn left onto Shishigatani Goshonodancho street. Continue walking for about 15 minutes until you reach Hōnenin Temple.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from your location in Nara. Inform the driver to take you to Hōnenin Temple in Kyoto, located at 30番地 Shishigatani Goshonodancho, Sakyo Ward. The journey will take approximately 40 minutes, depending on traffic.
Bicycle Rental
Rent a bicycle from one of the bike rental shops in Nara. Ride towards Kyoto, following the marked bike lanes. It will take about an hour to reach Hōnenin Temple. Once you reach the Shishigatani area, look for signs pointing toward the temple. The temple is located at 30番地 Shishigatani Goshonodancho.
