Getting There

  • Bus

    From Nara Station, take the Nara Kotsu Bus bound for Tsu. The bus will take approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Get off at 'Misugicho Kamitage' bus stop. From the bus stop, walk about 10 minutes to reach Kitabatake Shrine. Head east on Misugicho Kamitage Street, and you will see the shrine ahead.

  • Train and Bus

    From Nara Station, take the Kintetsu Nara Line to Tsu Station. The train ride takes about 30 minutes. Once at Tsu Station, exit the station and transfer to the local bus service. Take the bus heading towards 'Misugicho Kamitage'. Get off at the 'Misugicho Kamitage' stop, then walk for about 10 minutes east along Misugicho Kamitage Street to reach Kitabatake Shrine.

  • Walking

    If you are near the central area of Nara, it's quite a long walk to Kitabatake Shrine, approximately 10 kilometers. Head west on Sanjo Dori and continue straight until you reach the Tsu area. Follow signs to Misugicho Kamitage. It is recommended to use a map app for navigation, as this will take around 2 hours on foot.
