    Getting There

    Walking

    If you are in Nara Park, head towards the Nara National Museum. Once you reach the museum, walk straight past it, following the path. You will come across a large gate known as Nandaimon Gate. Tōdai-ji is located just beyond this gate. It is a short walk of about 10-15 minutes from the museum.

    Public Transport (Bus)

    From Nara Station, take the bus number 70 or 72 towards Tōdai-ji Daibutsuden. The journey takes about 15 minutes. Get off at the Tōdai-ji Daibutsuden bus stop. From there, it is a short 5-minute walk to the entrance of Tōdai-ji. Follow the signs and paths leading through Nara Park.

    Bicycle Rental

    If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops near Nara Station. Head north towards Nara Park and follow the signs to Tōdai-ji. The ride will take approximately 10-15 minutes. You can park your bike at the designated bicycle parking area just outside the temple.

    Taxi

    From anywhere in Nara, you can take a taxi to Tōdai-ji. Simply tell the driver 'Tōdai-ji' or show them the address: 406-1 Zoshicho, Nara. The journey should take around 10 minutes depending on traffic.
