Public Transport
From Nara Station, take the JR Yamatoji Line to Kyoto Station. The journey takes about 45 minutes. Once at Kyoto Station, transfer to the Karasuma Subway Line and travel towards Kokusaikaikan Station. Get off at Kitaoji Station. From Kitaoji Station, take bus number 204 towards Toji-in Temple. The bus ride takes about 15 minutes. Get off at the Toji-in bus stop, and the temple will be a short walk from there.

If you are staying in central Nara, walk to Nara Park and head towards the Nara National Museum. From there, exit the park and walk to the nearest bus stop to catch a bus to Kyoto. Alternatively, you can walk to Nara Station, as described above, to catch the train.
