Public Transport
From Nara Station, take the Kintetsu Nara Line to Kintetsu Kyoto Station. This journey takes about 45 minutes. Once you arrive at Kintetsu Kyoto Station, follow the signs to the subway. Take the Karasuma Line to Shijo Station (approximately 3 stops). At Shijo Station, transfer to the bus stop outside the station. Board bus number 100 or 206 heading towards Gion. Get off at the Gion stop. From there, it's a short 5-minute walk to Yasaka Shrine. Head down Shijo Avenue, cross the bridge, and turn left onto Gionmachi Kitagawa Street. You will see Yasaka Shrine on your right.
Walking
If you are already in central Kyoto, you can walk to Yasaka Shrine. From the Kyoto Tower, head south towards the Kyoto Station. From there, walk east along Shijo Avenue until you reach Gion. The shrine is located at 625 Gionmachi Kitagawa, Higashiyama Ward. It will take approximately 30 minutes to walk from the station to the shrine.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from your location in Nara to Yasaka Shrine. This should take approximately 45 minutes, depending on traffic. Ensure to provide the driver with the address: 625 Gionmachi Kitagawa, Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto, 605-0073.
