Train
From Nara Station, take the Kintetsu Nara Line to Yamato-Saidaiji Station. Transfer to the Kintetsu Nara Line Limited Express bound for Osaka Namba. Alight at Osaka Namba Station. From there, take the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line to Osaka Station. Exit the station and follow the signs to the Osaka Loop Line. Take the Loop Line train and alight at Osakajokoen Station. The Otemon Gate is a short walk from the station.

From Nara Park, walk to Nara Station and take the Kintetsu Nara Line Bus to Osaka Castle Park. The bus ride will take approximately 45 minutes. Once you arrive, follow the signs to the Osaka Castle, and you will find the Otemon Gate as part of the park's entrance.

Walking
If you are near the center of Nara, you can walk to the nearest train station, Nara Station, and then take the Kintetsu Nara Line as previously described. The walk to the station will take about 15-20 minutes. Alternatively, if you are up for a longer walk, you could walk to the Otemon Gate directly, which takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your pace. Head northwest toward the Nara City exit, follow the signs to the Nara National Museum, and then make your way to the JR Nara Station. From there, follow the train directions above.
