Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the center of Oki and head towards the ferry terminal. Take the ferry to the mainland (Shimane or Tottori) depending on your location in Oki. The ferry ride costs approximately 2,000 to 3,000 yen per person. Once you arrive at the mainland, drive towards Tokyo using the expressways. You will need to pay tolls along the way, which could total around 10,000 to 15,000 yen depending on your route. Follow the signs to Shibuya City, and use a GPS to navigate to Meiji Jingu at 1-1 Yoyogikamizonocho, Shibuya City, Tokyo 151-8557. There is parking available nearby, but expect to pay for parking as well.
Public Transportation
To reach Meiji Jingu via public transportation, first take a ferry from Oki to the mainland (Shimane or Tottori). The ferry costs around 2,000 to 3,000 yen per person. Once you arrive, find the nearest train station. From there, take a train to Tokyo Station. Depending on your route, this train journey could take around 8 to 10 hours and cost approximately 15,000 yen for a reserved seat. Once in Tokyo, transfer to the JR Yamanote Line and get off at Harajuku Station. From Harajuku Station, it's about a 10-minute walk to Meiji Jingu. Follow the signs to the shrine, and enjoy the beautiful approach through the forested area.
