Car
If you're traveling by car, start from anywhere in Oki. Head towards the nearest ferry terminal that connects to the mainland. The most common route is to take the ferry from Oki to Shimonoseki. Once you arrive at Shimonoseki, follow signs to Route 2, and then take the expressway towards Fukuoka. After approximately 1.5 hours, you will reach the junction for Route 9 towards Kitakyushu. Continue on Route 9, then merge onto the Sanyo Expressway. Keep driving for about 5 hours until you reach the Tokyo area. From there, follow the signs to Taito City, and finally, navigate to 13-9 Uenokoen, which is where Okyokan is located.
Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, start by taking a bus or taxi from your accommodation in Oki to the Oki ferry terminal. Purchase a ticket for the ferry to Shimonoseki. The ferry ride takes about 2-3 hours. Once you arrive at Shimonoseki, head to the train station nearby and take the Shinkansen (bullet train) to Tokyo. This ride will take around 4 hours. Upon reaching Tokyo, transfer to the JR Yamanote Line and get off at Ueno Station. From Ueno Station, it’s a 10-minute walk to Okyokan at 13-9 Uenokoen, Taito City, Tokyo 110-0007.
