There is a parking area available near the castle, which may incur a small fee (around ¥500 for a few hours).

To reach Hikone Castle via public transport, start at Omi Station. Board the JR Biwako Line (bound for Maibara) and travel for about 30 minutes to Hikone Station. If you choose to walk, head straight down the main road, and follow the signs to Hikone Castle. If you prefer the bus, board the bus to 'Hikone-jo' (Hikone Castle) which will take about 5 minutes. The bus fare is around ¥210.
